Dear [Re]value Enthusiasts,

As the year draws to a close, we are excited to share the latest updates on the [Re]value project. Our Interreg initiative aims to develop high-quality yarns from regional sheep wool, recycled wool, and European hemp for the interior sector – and we are steadily progressing towards this goal.

Since our official kick-off in July, we have achieved significant milestones. Together, our team is working to establish a sustainable and innovative process chain:

[1] De Wassum supplies regional wool from the German-Dutch border area.
[2] Farmhuis provides recycled wool from textile waste generated in carpet production.
[3] Felde Fibres, BFTi, and La Chanvrière supply high-quality European hemp.

Our first yarns

We have already produced our first yarns at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach and in the state-of-the-art facilities at Spinning Jenny in Nijverdal. The trials have yielded promising results in terms of yarn quality and sustainability.

Visit Spinning Jenny

A special moment in our collaboration so far was the project meeting at Spinning Jenny. This gave us the opportunity to explore their sustainable production processes on-site and gain valuable insights to guide our future work.

World Hemp Forum

Equally enriching was our participation in the World Hemp Forum, where we exchanged ideas with international experts about the diverse applications of hemp. A visit to La Chanvrière, France’s largest hemp processing facility, was another inspiring highlight.
